The influence of my final collection Ranga SS16 has come from traditional Indian dance and the artist Michael Samuel’s work. I have been inspired by the pleating technique and silhouette of clothes worn by traditional Indian dancers. I have been influenced by Michael Samuel’s use of colour and materials and how he uses colour blocking within his sculpture.

All the construction of my garments is draped on the stand using pleating techniques to create a trapeze silhouette. I have used Samuel’s construction method of framing in some of the pieces within my collection.
