I wanted this collection to be playful and fun so I decided to draw inspiration from things of my past. Certain childhood memories such as Retro sweets, children’s entertainers and parties… I did research into clowns costumes and dissected patterns and shapes from these and interpreted them into chic and contemporary variations of what you would associate with clown’s costumes. My colour palette of pastels came from the vast array of retro sweets that so fondly remind me of my childhood for example flying saucers, love hearts and candy necklaces to name just a few.
