The hand painted parrot print is based around a theory on contemporary society, where the media has created a place for people to analyse the intricacies of other people’s bodies. Society is obsessed with the body. This obsession was interpreted into something almost comical in appearance; a satire on society’s absurd standards on the body. The parrot was the chosen subject for the print, as it is best known for it’s ability to mimic.
