Ruje Aktar's graduate collection explores the movie Blade runner where the line between human a cyborg has become a thin line to which humans then eradicate them from earth. Use of lighting within the movie is what drew Ruje to the movie where mood and senses are portrayed through lighting and reflection. Using soft leatherettes and PVC, she was able to capture the motion of lighting her collection creates. Creating dramatic silhouettes, Ruje was inspired by the 80s power suits and 50s men’s suiting to which she was able to show sleek utilitarian fashion within GFW/LFMW.
