ARMISTICE seeks to capture the moment of when contradictory elements form momentary truce. Inspired by Kinetic Art, the use of material guides form which in turn, determines both physical and illusionary movement. The otherwise conventional front view of each look is met with a deconstructed back or side view that rely on the fabric’s drape, weight and manipulation to determine the achievement of the desired form. This is made possible by various techniques such as slashing, weighted draping and weaving.
