In this collection, SiO2 AgCu H2O, I wanted conceptually to break down the components into their original elements and explore ways to create transparent, responsible jewelry. I used all recycled sterling silver as my main material. When looking for stones, I found it difficult to find a 100% trustworthy source. So, instead of sourcing widely popular questionable stones, I mined my own Herkimer Diamonds from Herkimer, NY. As a jeweler, the experience of putting in the labor to mine my own stones was invaluable.
