In a culture where one is defined by how hard one works, those who are now outwith the duty of labour graduate to a new labour; that of declaring their prevailing worth. Through our increasing homogenisation of the elderly and retired, we deprive a people of their claim to power, uniqueness, beauty and dynamism. This collection makes a study of an elderly lady who strives to preserve her identity, despite society’s banishment of her into anonymity.
