I built my own understanding. I use artifacts part of our peasant culture – a witness of a social paradigm long gone- which have become museum worthy objects. The adaptation process can become as delicate and detailed as that of a master jeweler. My shapes are baroque, resembling the crown jewels; it’s the ‘humble’ material I extract from the original function of the piece.
