The “bleans:je:vovits”-collection is created and inspired by Mette Marie’s primary research conduced on the New York Subway system. While in New York riding on the subway trains, she filmed activity via a video camera kept in one single position. The resulting film revealed many contrasts with sections that became enigmatic blurred snapshots populated with fleeting, mysterious characters. She then used the film footage as her inspiration for exploring the relationship between stillness and movement, light and dark. The video also provides a basis for the colours and her choice of textiles.
