After spending a summer in South-Africa I got inspired by the seemingly endless beauty- and hair salons. Also the excess of advertisements and logos that colored the streets of Johannesburg appealed to me. I wanted to translate the struggle of life during the apartheid, as documented by the photographer David Goldblatt into a young, sporty collection by repurposing clothes, shoes, fake hair and beauty products.
