We entered the new millennium a decade ago. We have moved into a new modified world, a phase of growth and transition. Our habits are changing fast and our technology is evolving even faster. The contemporary technology is obsolete already and we wait hopeful for the next new one. Consumerism has encouraged people to seek happiness through constant expansion of their materialistic standard of living and it has led to a growth of status consumption and want-creation, both of which increase consumption without contributing to happiness.
