The main inspiration for my collection is the traditional Costume of Zeeland, the Netherlands. This costume emerged during the 19th century from the prevailing fashion of that time. In Zeeland, there are many different regional costumes. I have chosen the costume of Walcheren. These costumes are on the verge of extinction. The costume of Walcheren has been worn for the longest, since it has always been the ‘most practical’ costume.
