Vanitas Collection (2009)

Inspired by the Old Dutch Master' and the Vanitas paintings of this time period, this collection emerged from a time period that explored digital embroidery technology with hand silk screening and draping with obsolete industrial sewing machinery. This collection was born out of a past and activated by tools, machinery and the hand in order to situate it into the present. The idea was to simulate an experience that was reminiscent of the gaze set forth by the masters of Vanitas painting.
