no shame no gain

no shame no gain

The aim of this collection is to rewrite social and physical shame through clothing. The legible symbols of shame are used in the design of the collection and ultimately have an empowering effect on both wearer and viewer. The inspiration for the collection comes on the one hand from literature on social class change (Ernaux, Eribon, Louis), and on the other hand from conducted interviews about personal experiences of shame and the connection between shame and clothing. In addition, physicality and phenomena of shame are investigated through performative formats.
