After walking
along narrow paths,
accompanied only by my own shadow
I have come to the edge of the precipice.
Anxiety, fear and excitement
hang over me in
mathematical proportions.
And it's time to jump
or go back on the steps I have taken
and feeling the disappointed frown from
my grey friend
who despite looking at me from the ground
knows how to show me that
she is far above me
I look down
and the ground beneath me
appears further and further away
