Mute_Tation -
Takes upon inspiration from World War II South African soldiers of which; who suffered in the prisoner concentration camps and suffered mass gas exposure.
The concept/idea was articulated in design through the inspiration of the mutations that had occurred on the soldiers and fellow civilians during that time due to mass gas exposure, and the function that the gas mask had played out in the form of muting all forms of communication/emotion during the suffering and intense destruction of World War II.
