Inspiration for Jamie McCarty's Fall-Winter 14 collection was drawn from French New Wave films and the extreme way those films present their female characters, as overtly feminine in their styles and a lot of times stereotypical in their aspirations and goals. This led to an exploration of things that are typically considered women's work, like cross-stitch and embroidery.
