the portrait i never painted

THE PORTRAIT I NEVER PAINTED is a love letter to my
grandfather and my goodbye. He was born in a communist
country and had to adjust to his new life after the
democratic regime was installed in Romania.
The garments are a mix of our backgrounds: communism
and democracy. The tailored, pointy silhouettes
represent the strict regime and the feeling of being
captive in such a world. The distressed, unfinished
