The latest collection by Nouman proposes a self-reflection about our own identities. It is inspired by Sophie Calle’s first projects where she played the role of random people she found on the bus. Another source of inspiration are the posters of missing people where the portrait is confronted with the lack of identity. Nouman has converted these ideas into unique pieces that build an aesthetic of the generic city with simple shapes but sophisticated details and a strong concept behind it.
