The concept for this project has been inspired by the idea of a ‘past/modern’ hybrid; of creating a new context for historical design and ideas. I have combined a mix of influences from different eras to create a contemporary womenswear collection for Spring/Summer17. I designed my collection as a form of escapism; decorative and delicate, it is an aesthetic retreat from modern life. I have explored combinations of pattern and colour to create a feeling of harmony and calm.
