Collection STRIPPED DOWN is a journey into Amazon’s indigenous tribes and their ways of capturing nature and expressing their culture through symbols. Fernanda Fernandes’s research begins in the Amazon, where very few tribes still exercise their ancient culture. These tribes use extremely graphic designs to communicate within themselves and between other tribes. The most intriguing part of these designs, which vary from tapestry, pots, architecture and body panting, are the “stripped down” approach when it comes to the artistic representation of their surroundings.
