Actissance is a project investigating a redefining of activewear. It is motivated by the idea of questioning the aesthetic that exists within the field of winter activewear by placing it with an opposite. An opposite as in this case is renaissance dressing with a higher focus on the aesthetic expression than the functional commitment.
Two areas that stand far apart from each other both in time, space, function, and aesthetics. By implementing details and properties from another area, this work strives to rearrange the view on how we create activewear and when we were them.
