Inspiration for the collection is drawn from portrayals of female gender roles in classic folktales juxtaposed with early female pioneers, who challenged these stereotypical, socially constructed norms. These ideas are conflated with modern re-contextualized fairytales and 19th century cabinet photography depicting boys in dresses.
