Facinated by old science fiction villains like Rita Repulsa in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993) acted series and artwork such as Electric Dress (1956) by Atsuko Tanaka. I wanted to research themes of outer space and especially how science fiction has affected the way we think about it. It is very common to hear comments that something looks like it is from outer space even though our very idea of outer space relates to how it is represented in science fiction rather than what is actually known of it.
