“In experimenting for this collection, I took up shading myself with a parasol, which to many might seem an outdated accessory. Carrying one really changed my attitude; I felt so sophisticated! I wanted to share this with the younger market by creating pieces and keep the tradition alive.”Says Clémentine about the recent sunshade collaboration with master parasol craftswoman Tomoko Kamata. “There’s 60 yrs between Tomoko & myself, but we're moved by the same goals.”
