Immersion in the Dogon tribe’s world and customs brought us to the following question: what do the scars on the body means to oneself? Scarifications for the Dogons are a choice and a form of empowerment as it marks the beginning of adulthood for boys/girls and much more. Those scarifications are a form of beautification of their bodies as much as a claim and pride for their roots.
The choice of textiles for this SS19 collection is an abstract mirror of those scars on the body as well as the strong sculptural silhouettes.
