This project explores cleaning, centering around dust.
My process has been driven by a game of association around the references surrounding the theme. One of the techniques I have used is flock printing, where the ambition has been to treat a material or garment so that it appears to have been used to wipe up dust. In addition, I have fringed selected places on garments with microfibre yarn, turning the wearers body in a suggestive pose into a functional dust mop. Cuts and motifs have also drawn inspiration from garments worn by a maid, or rather the fantasy of one.
