Designer Andra Clitan’s PhD collection, Berlin Fashion Week 2013

Andra finalized her PhD thesis in 2012, with a thematic autumn/winter collection. The thesis is entitled “From multiculturalism to Intercultural Dialogue” and has as main focus the traditional funeral ritual from Transylvania and its symbolism, materialized in a modern design. Andra used traditional tailoring techniques – couture, with hand made embroidery and craftsmen work to embody her concept and grounded research.

She loves to combine old with new and believes fashion is an art.
