Inspiration is derived from the Brazilian artist Odires Mlászho and the late work of Henri Matisse. I’m inspired by the spontaneity of cut outs from previously structured objects and subsequent intuitive layering found in their work. The organically cut panels loosely layered on the upper part of the coat are a reflection of the cut out parts layered on the body. The swirly patterns shaping the lower part the coat are a pendant to the edges around the cut out pieces.
