Collectie Arnhem

Collectie Arnhem is a design project in which the third year students Fashion Design BA of ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem The Netherlands, develop and design a total collection as a collective, from concept and design to sample and presentation. It is the intention that all aspects involved in the practice of developing and designing a collection fit into this project. It is a step towards teamwork, and other than strict design qualities evolve such as business and organizational skills. The project lasts one semester: the collection is developed, designed and sampled from september until december, and presented end of January on a for the concept of the collection fitting location in Amsterdam, after which the collection is used by various stylists for editorial productions. It is particularly noteworthy that in Collectie Arnhem the department simulates a professional work situation. The project has to be self-financing through collection sample sales and sponsorship.
