Christina Louca was born in Cyprus to parents of both artistic creations. Her mom has been a seamstress and dad a house painter for more than 46 years. As she was growing up she was always surrounded by style, creativity and perfection 24/7. In her free time she would dress herself up with the leftover fabrics from her mother’s clients, stand in front of the mirror and play around with them forming different styles and letting her imagination ran wild. Her dedicated mom also made sure every now and then to make on Christina’s request an outfit so original and stylish that her friends would laugh at BUT they were kids, they knew nothing about style. Christina did though! I guess that’s why Christina has always wanted to be famous; in her teenage years her idol was Madonna. She marveled first at her style and then her voice. She actually made everybody call her Madonna in Junior High School.
• Then in 1992 off to NYC, the famous city in the world to college to become an English Teacher. Her education includes:
• A.A.S in Liberal Arts, 1996, LaGuardia Community College, ,NYC, USA,
• BA (with honors) in English Literature and English Arts, January 1999, Hunter College, NYC, USA
• MA in TESOL in 2003, Hunter College, NYC, USA,
• HONORS: Dean’s List. Golden Key National Honor Society

Nevertheless, all through those years, in school and University Christina got always excellent reviews for her in -class artistic projects combining different materials and representing something eccentric, something out of the ordinary, that many times her work was exhibited in the classroom or in the school by her professors. You see, Art opened her mind to new horizons where her imagination would come alive in any form.
Upon her return to Cyprus after a 10 year stay in NY, and some unfortunate events made Christina to start drawing/designing but through some soul searching by the guidance of her best friends she embarked on a fashion Public Relations career. That’s when everything started!
For two years her designs were only designs on paper. Her passion for exquisite style, immaculate detail, that something different was boiling inside. She had to find a way to channel it out. Her fashion Public Relations career includes clients such as:
• Sofia Alexander of Sofia Alexander Designs Ltd (2007-2008)
• Sophia Nicolaou Fashion Designer (2009)

Working with these prolific clients where she managed with great success to put them in the public eye abroad and in Cyprus, her designs started taking full force. Up until one day with the encouragement of another good friend, Mrs. Papadopoullou, former and very prolific fashion designer in South Africa, and by her dear and blessed mom’s expert hands, her designs took form and became a reality. A year later in 2010 that’s when she decided to launch her own collection under her own name Christina Louca in London.
Christina’s collection is characterized by pleats, volumes, hand manipulation of the fabrics, to make unusual, eccentric shapes, different and various material sewn on the fabric, such as peacock feathers, zippers and playing with the textiles’ designs and colors/shades to create that unique style.
Christina gets her inspiration from the 1920’s and 1960’s as she reminisces of those nostalgic eras. Even though she wasn’t born in those times, often times she wished she did. She immerses herself with the dress code, behavior code and music of those days. According to Christina, people in 1920’s had lots of class and finesse. She also gets her inspiration from nature as her goal is to showcase her collections to raise money for various animal and nature charity organizations around the world.
Christina’s vision is working clothes for the modern career women with a touch of art on them. Christina wanted to create clothes that you wear to work and be exceptional stylish, not just a plain, black suit, and at the same time wear them to go out after work for a drink.
Be sure as she has been experiencing by first hand to turn heads everywhere you go, get rave reviews at dinners and parties and become a conversation piece and don’t be surprised having your picture taken by passers- by just by wearing her eccentric yet chic pieces. Candida Sampson, owner of Eskimo PR (London) said: “I liked it and it’s something I would wear”.

Her dream came true in June 2011, with the outstanding help of her dear mentor, Jack Lucas, CEO of Hello London Events that helped her to launch her line at a fundraising event by her suggestion for the Born Free Foundation for Endangered species and the Variety Club of UK for underprivileged kids where all the proceeds went to the two charities respectively.
Her debut fashion/fundraising event had success written all over it from the beginning; from the models, photographers, make- up artists, hair stylists, and the rest of the crew involved who volunteered their time and talent for Christina’s event and the two charities. Even the owner of the prime venue-Piano Soho in the West End of London, waived his usual 2,000 pounds hire fee for the charity purpose. That left Christina speechless!
The evening was at a cocktail hour where guests enjoyed delicious and refreshing cocktails prepared by the expert staff of the bar on a such hot day, listened to live performances by up and coming Jazz/Blues singers, where the 15 year old Jazz singer captivated the audience with her Adele esq voice accompanied by Christina Louca’s collection where you couldn’t hear anything but “WOW this ” and “WOW that” and other exclamations from the 100 guests.
At the end of the show, the photographers and the models went to the neighboring China Town to take pictures where even there Christina’s collection left everyone so amazed that the passers-by took pictures of the models and followed them everywhere they went.
