For their Spring-Summer 2020 collection, CHAKSHYN designers Anton and Dima stay true to their “Womenswear-inspired-by-menswear” aesthetics and mesh masculine tailoring with business wear and feminine staples.
As their starting point, Anton and Dima talked a lot about the small universe of an office building and the place of an individual within the large corporate machine. More visual clues came from Ancient Greece and its mythology, another universe where an individual’s path is determined by higher powers and complex hierarchy.
Its Greece that defined the color palette, graphic prints and heavy-draping dresses and tops from CHAKSHYN SS20. Within this visual realm, the designers envisioned a group that works on some “Apollo” project, throwing around ideas and brainstorming during numerous meetings and calls.
The designers took cues from menswear, business and formal wear for their “Morning Meeting” suits with twisted seams and elastic belts, the “Receptionist” tops and dresses, double-layered “Blue collar” shirts and deconstructed “Art Director” jackets and skirts from coated cotton with elastic details.
For their coveted jewelry line, CHAKSHYN continue working with pearls and mixed metals and take the office out for a party. Raves and club wear inspired the earrings that resemble utilitarian clasps and hooks, and Greece appears again with blue and white irregularly shaped crystals.
