Graduating from Brighton University, Cecilia’s unique take on knitwear has meant she has won a number of prestigious awards such as 'The Clothworkers Foundation Award' for her knitted fabrics, as well as winning first prize in a collaboration project with Nano Force.
After working for knitwear designer Juliana Sissions at the Victoria and Albert Museum, it gave Cecilia a clearer understanding of how to fuse art with contemporary textiles

THE ILLUSION OF PERSPECTIVES

Cecilia's highly detailed collection was inspired by Cubist art and architecture; in particular the way the cubists worked three dimensionally with their fascination for fragmented structures, their use of colours tones, and their endless ability to capture a variety of perspectives from an image.
By engaging with cubist characteristics such as fragmentation, gradual colour blends and multiple views, the aim of the collection was to investigate how cubist characteristics can be developed through the medium of knitting. In doing so Cecilia has successfully managed to fuse both cubist ideals with knitwear techniques, resulting in a beautiful intricate collection.
