Catherine & Jean is a new luxury handbag brand founded by Jane Smedley and inspired by her two grandmothers, Catherine Howard and Jean Smedley. From Catherine, whose fashion studies at Central Saint Martins inspired her love of intricate detail, the brand derives its dedication to exceptional craftsmanship and materials; from Jean, whose glittering lifestyle was supported by a wardrobe awash with colour, sequins and prints, the brand derives its love of vivacious feminine glamour.

The most distinctive aspect of the bags’ design is the fabric upper panel and, whilst the bags are crafted by a long-established Milanese factory with Italian calf leather, hardware and lining, the cotton fabric is made and printed in England. In addition, our dedication to traditional manufacturing means that all point of sale materials and packaging are also made and printed in England.
