The collection "Pension 3000" deals with the theme of retirement and aging. Particularly inspiring for the collection is the observation of the clothing aesthetics, the "subculture" of pensioners. Beige colours and pastel shades are predominant. Also remarkable are the changing body shapes that occur with age and which fill out the clothes differently. Shoulders fall off, the back becomes rounder and the skin becomes more wrinkled. These observations are emphasized by special sleeve constructions. Raglan constructions are used to create the illusion of a round back. The decay of the body is traced graphically, which paradoxically results in a sporty-looking line.
In addition to the observation of the dress code and body shape in my personal imagination, retirement is a place of desire. Retirement is the point in time in the biography when leisure takes on a new meaning. The textiles in this collection illustrate an emotional approach to the topic of aging and retirement. Haptic materials such as natural raffia, smocked fabrics, quilted and ruffled fabrics form an interplay with graphic patterns such as check fabric, check screen printing and linear foil printing. Patterns and structures contrast but take up and support each other at the same time.
The "Pension 3000" collection illustrates and preserves the beauty of pensioners' clothing aesthetics combined with my personal feeling for retirement.
