The "Escape from MDS" collection represents the journey of individuals facing insufficiency, portraying emotions and inner conflicts. Inspired by a true story progressing from myelodysplastic syndrome to acute leukemia, this collection sheds light on the struggle and transformation stemming from bone marrow's inability to produce enough blood cells or form normal structures. By reflecting the effects of myelodisplastic syndrome, it underscores themes of resilience and metamorphosis.
The collection aims to convey a powerful message to the audience, showcasing the inner strength and endurance of the human spirit, urging action to escape the potential consequences of the disease. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness about diseases such as myelodysplastic syndrome and leukemia.
Each texture and fabric manipulation reflects signs of life and the inherent battle within. Utilizing manipulated fabrics and knitted threads, the pieces illustrate the workings of the disease within the body. For instance, wrinkles on organic cotton symbolize bone abnormalities, while the purple processing draws inspiration from the microscopic appearance of cells.
