BUMESI aka Dru Blumensheid is an American-Australian designer and Artist. She creates wearable art, Ready to Wear and accessories for the considered wild + free individuals who choose to live in a consciously brave, Nomadic world.

BUMESI began designing in Melbourne, Australia in 2009 where she was living abroad for 8 years. She developed a draping technique out of her collection of textiles from her overseas travels from Europe to Southeast Asia & Japan to New Zealand and Mexico.

Her professional background is predominantly working as a fashion photographer and filmmaker after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and Film & Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2007.

Her influences have constantly centered around individuality, her personal narrative, the way the body moves, travel, rebellion and nomadic subculture. visit bumesi.com + drublumensheid.com.

Poltergeist

As we fall in between the time before and the time “after” this
uncertain time, restricted environments make a wearer reflect on
their past, how to live in the present in a new skin between memory
and the unknown, and how to feel again after isolation.

Bumesi Poltergeist is a capsule collection of monochromatic,
reversibly light weighted garments to wear, to give and receive
intimacy for the first time after a dark time.

Embellished with curtain fringe, seductive and accessible pockets entice and expose a tease, with structured seam lines and draped, second skin textiles.

Digital prints of human nudes lay between the wearer, their lover and
the environment as they both haunt and attract as a relic of lovers past,
projecting how a wearer carries their weight from the outside in, and how they channel it to make better the love they bring to a new lover.

Poltergeist, the shadows of the past worn into the present to progress a better culture of love and being free. Inspired by the intimate past of Bumesi for the wearers who relate to this feeling of reflection upon loving in the present.
