While, being in my teens, I step foot on the steps of “Nicolae Tonitza” Fine Arts High School, I was instinctively following my vocation traced back in my childhood. But then I considered word-painting the beautiful and the useful, choosing the Faculty of Letters, the Romanian Language - Imaging Science Department. Although I had there the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge in art theory and history, my first jobs were in advertising where, much to my surprise, nothing seemed to make sense, nothing seemed to last. The beautiful and the useful often ended up wrapped in pragmatism.

Then I found the metal words. And I finally made sense out of unwords.
It only took one introductory course in jewelry to discover my passion for it and to follow this path.
I love making earthy and modern, edgy yet sophisticated jewelry.
I fall in love with ancient techniques that I integrate into my jewelry.

Looking back, everything I did before attending the Assamblage School of Contemporary Jewelry studies were but quests for meaning

Today I can lay my cards on the table and say that I love glittering things and that I am fascinated by the metal’s behaviour, which sometimes conducts itself as a liquid, and sometimes is solid. I also love the way people enjoy wearing my jewels. It's a kind of unique appreciation, that feeling that what you did makes sense, is worthwhile.

Freya goddess of love

This collection explores the idea of femininity on a conceptual level.
In Nordic mythology Freya is the goddess associated with love, fertility and beauty. This collection aims to bring forward these feminine qualities which we have forgotten to appreciate in relation to the masculine qualities.
Not being accustomed to quantifying women's powers and gifts, they remain in the shadow and are not as appreciated as the masculine ones.
Most often the male approach to success is measurable.
But how can we quantify the gifts a woman makes: love, care for children, deep connection in the family, in society? How can you quantify the subtle ways of influencing and living a life that feels good instead of one that looks good?
Femininity itself is a power. Even in modern society we still get stricken by stereotypes trying to convince us that it is our weakness, when, in fact, it is our greatest gift.
The collection combines ancient techniques of jewelry: granulation, reticulation, fusion - enhancing the idea of harmony.
I combined pearls and semiprecious stones with regular stones, alternating smooth, glossy surfaces with textured surfaces, gold with black ... precisely to enhance each other just as the feminine and the masculine stand side by side in everyday life.
This collection is trying to suggest a new paradigm for modern relationships. The future is not white or black, only feminine or masculine, it is of women and men who are aware of their power together.
