Fog obscures the view of the mountain village. A man walks slowly down the lane. Naked men’s legs under fine silk. When female-coded materials are resituated to the male body the result is irritation. An archive of sensitivity. What does a fine silk garment feel like to a man? How does he sense lace when he looks at himself in the mirror? The two are not congruent. Often the feeling of wearing a garment is taken for granted, the visual impact nonetheless extreme: transparent silk for men? Different techniques of toning down or softening make fabrics wearable – wadding lace, compacting thin silk. Masculinity and awareness are required of the man.
