Melina Karagozian y Catalina Villarraza co-founded BESTIA, a Buenos Aires based fashion brand. After graduating as Fashion Designers at the University of Buenos Aires, they both started working for different businesses while still getting together after hours. That was how BESTIA was born.
The name of the brand comes from the French expression Bete Noir, referring to something disgusting or annoying. By taking this concept, they transformed it not only into a brand, but also into a movement and a lifestyle. Their garments provide an experience of freedom and are designed to work as tools of power and amulets, transforming their consumers into urban magicians. BESTIA´s designs are like open books that acquire new meanings by mixing the story the brand wants to share, the way it is made into a garment, and the way it is interpreted and worn by its user.
