Bei & Bos is a functional luxury brand established by an architect and a jewellery designer in Sydney, Australia, inspired by the demands of day-to-day travel and the changing landscape which we move through each day.
Sydney has a unique landscape consisting of the city, beaches and harbours all within close proximity to one another. Many of us commute across these landscapes on a daily basis. As a response to this shifting lifestyle, where we find ourselves rising to a yoga session by the beach, followed by a commute into the city for work, then out for a social night with friends, we have developed a collection of adjustable bags that are as versatile as our day-to-day lives.
With a background in jewellery and architecture, our design process is a combination of traditional metalsmith techniques of jewellery making and material knowledge, with a spatial approach to fashion as a constant dialogue of the body and the landscape it moves through.
Working from our studio in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, sustainable design is at the core of our processes. We believe that versatile and durable design is* sustainable design. Therefore, each bag we craft is functional and can be adjusted in multiple ways to suit multiple activities throughout the day.
We use recycled precious and semi-precious metal in our bag hardware and we use plant-based cleaning products instead of harmful acids in our studio. We also source our leather from tanning factories that apply water conservation methods in their practices, as well as reducing the use of environmentally harmful chemicals in their production processes.
