Born in Italy and following my dream in London.
My name is Sabrina Bonatesta, a Womenswear Fashion Designer.
I grew up in the heel of Italy, Puglia - that wonderful land full of art and craft, antiques and immense natural beauty. my place always gifts me unique inspiration. I then moved to London, attracted by its multicultural society, where I attended to the BA Fashion course at Ravensbourne University. the city gave me the opportunity to broaden my horizons and feed my creativity with some fresh and innovative ideas as well as lots of history. Graduated in 2019, I showed my final collection at London Graduate Fashion Week. My collection has also been featured in the 10th edition of VOGUE TALENTS 2019. Mine was one of the only 5 UK graduate collection showed on the magazine. During my studies, I had the opportunity to intern for contemporary fashion brands, work at both London and Paris fashion week, and obviously to improve my skills which helped me managing and realise my own collection.
I am currently back to Italy in the hope to bring back all I have learnt.

ME & TE(A)

Moving to the country of tea drinkers, I started to look at the history of the drink. During my research I came across an incredible amount of functions that tea has but, its use as an instrument of communication grabbed my attention the most. children's tea parties are fundamental for the development of social skills in early life. In a parallel way, they have been my base inspiration for the development of some print designs and silhouettes. Sipping a cup of tea to reunite friends is another aspect I consider in my collection. I imagined the outfits being worn by different people with different personalities and stories to tell to each other. At the same time, they are all reunited for a cup of tea!
tea commerce between china and england was really important for connecting these countries together. I found the two and their historical clothing really inspirational - in fact, I used some of their silhouettes as base for mine.
I was born in Puglia, the land of artistry and craft, and so I could not avoid to include a bit of my place in the collection. Starting from up-cycling old crochet pieces by moulding them into head sculptures or tights. the months of work behind every one of those unique crochet pieces finally took a new life with me & te(a). I also collaborated with local artisans for the realisation of the shoes and some of the ceramic embellishments.
