Born in Argentina, in a small town, she moved to the main capital to study fashion design in University of Buenos Aires. While studying fashion design she discovered that fashion could be a new way to understand latin american perspective and how politic and social issues can be transformed in sources of inspiration. She is interested in the mixture of different universes, mix texts, books, movies and art with cultural issues, always trying to transmit a fragment of the context that surrounds her. To Catalina, what matters is the creation of experiences, that the relation between the person and the cloth were a way to alter his/her daily reality.
From this concepts, she creates her brand "BARDO", which she doesn't try to create an absurd reality. Actually, she suggests another way to view it, where the consumer feels happy and can be transported to another world, a surreal one in order to create it owns reality.
Bardo is a brand that raises the idea of the power of ritual outfits and their ability to alter daily life. Combining the idea of infinity and the way we see the world as such with the shamanic belief of simultaneous coexistence and parallel realities, creating a universe of a modern, urban shaman, with a fusion of ancestral, mystical, urban and contemporary concepts. Looking at the past, present and future as well as a possible parallel reality.
The fantastic, the surreal, the dreamlike do not open a passage to lead us to discover other worlds rather the contrary. They are a unique opportunity to see ourselves in another way.
The brand does not attempt to construct an absurd reality, but to create a way to look at it differently.
