This collection will provide a novel, inspired by the Oxman Mannahatta project: the downfall of a city and the slowly progress of rebuilding the city in a symbiotic path with the surrounding landscape.How will clothing look like in a city like that and what will the progress look like?
The collection is divided into three major sections, inspired by the time
progress of “Man-nahāta” from destruction to healing. The story is starting
with a natural disaster, destroying a big city by the climate crisis. In which
citizens have to flee from their home and find a new approach of living on this
damaged planet. After a while, around 100 years later, this people find a way
to establish a society with a connection to nature, they understand their
mistakes from the past and try to rebuilt the city from a total mess into a
flourish new city. Still is the city not released by the ghosts of the past and the
mistakes - we did not forget how badly we mistreated the surrounding we live
on.
But after this disaster the city figured out a new approach and tactics to make
the planet a comfortable place to live on again. This has the consequences of
communities finding and working together. Taking every aspect of a city life,
indigenous and wild life, into consideration, every professional field is working
together and helping each other. New and fresh designs in architecture,
products and living are blooming in the city.
The final evolution of the city and society is seen by the direct implementing
of Nature in every lifestyle and detail of our world to a fully closed cycle
without waste.
i provide this novel with sustainable materials, including deadstock fabric, upcycled garnments and 100%cotton.
Adding Salt on the Surface of the 4th and 5th look, makes the garnment look frozen and gives a bit of shimmerness without using any
the collection shows the varation and diversity of nature through different textile manipulations, the collection is a progress and delivering different solutions.
