‘Non Conforming’ is inspired by protest movements from the 80's and 90's such as the grunge scene and the queer movement. The collection also look into iconic women from these decades. During these eras, Clubs Kids played with the limit between men and women which became blurred while deconstructing established norms. At the same time Act Up was fighting to make their voices heard.

The shape plays with men and women traditional codes: large shoulders and a fitted waist for example.

The different collection's looks are inspired by traditional clothing from the male wardrobe that I designed with a traditional Haute Couture touch.

The fabrics mix Haute Couture fabrics (satin silk, organza silk, leather...) with more rough fabrics (denim, jersey...).

The colors are inspired by two artists from the 80's: Keith Harring and Basquiat (Mainly primary colors)

Embroideries and fabric manipulations are inspired by the punk and grunge movements
(ripped, holes....) and mixed with Haute Couture techniques (embroidered fabrics).
