Sofia Catalina Fiorentino Sarrate is a multidisciplinary designer committed to changing the discourse of fashion as we know it by assigning value to our so-called ‘textile waste’ within the fashion industry, through implementing closed loop systems in production.
ANTHROPOWASTE is taking a deep dive in implementing a circular economy model around fabric waste, celebrating waste as a powerful resource, and not simply a by-product.
"Anthropowaste" addresses social sustainability in drawing inspiration from latin culture and the hard work of the often marginalized, sofia aims to amplify the voices of those who make our clothes through honouring the ancient craft of weaving in garment up-cycling.

ANTHROPOWASTE's building blocks are based on re-looping waste streams and maximizing the use of every textile that hits the production line floor while celebrating the craft of the hand workers that stand behind the pieces by amplifying their voices and celebrating their culture.
