I am born and raised in the UK but have Scandinavian parents. Having insight in two culture has helped with my creativity, giving me an understanding of how much the world has to offer with inspiration. By Recently Graduating, I feel that in my educational journey from textiles to fashion I have discovered that I have a strong understanding of the use of colour pushing me towards the world of Print design.
I won the the David Band Textiles Award 2013 at Graduate Fashion Week with my experimentations with textural prints using velvet and silk viscose seem in my Graduate collection God Save The Cars. With this, I have secured a graduated Job as an assistant Print designer at Beyond Creative Ltd, helping me support my dream of creating my own designs.
As a fashion designer my collection revolves around the print techniques I use. I experiment with both screen and digital printing to create unique one of a kind fabrics. I believe the combination of both techniques provides an unlimited number of ways to make a plain fabric have a personality. When produced into garments, it is as though my fabrics comes alive.

GOD SAVE THE CARS

The focus of the collection is an urban style for women. The stimulus was 2012 summer riots - the colours, the shapes of the burning of the cars gave a pattern to the design, the smoke and the essence of negative excitement. This led to a style, which reflects urban deterioration and the rioters energy, therefore giving impact to an edgy style and a colour palette that developed from the mixing of the colours and pattern found from the burning cars.
The product range whilst reflecting urban wear moves from casual fabrics to incorporate silks and velvets to give the sense of elegance and fitted form based on menswear shapes. The collection comprises two opposite styles- structured and draped, which reflect the original concept of how fire can affect paint - the movement from a fitted skin to a fluid state.
