Hungarian designer Anna Horváth started her fashion label ANNCHI in 2010 shortly after graduating from London College of Fashion with a diploma in textile and fashion design. In the early part of her career, she drew her inspiration at the Szerencs Art School of Hungary, where she studied fine arts as a painter, and also the international MADI Art Group which provided her with a platform to introduce her fashion collections to Moscow and Paris. It was while working for Christopher Kane that she honed her skills in the profession – Anna Horváth’s collections were on display in 2003 in Paris, and later in London in 2010. At the 2008 Cannes Film
Festival gala the assistant producer of the Hungarian movie Delta wore a custom-made ANNCHI design.

The characteristic geometric forms that epitomize Anna Horváth’s paintings are also seen as part of the design of her fashion collection pieces. The distinctive ANNCHI look is the result of a thrilling interplay of offbeat tailoring and colours. The diverse colours and shimmering transparent textile layers create a play of light and colour tones that is quintessentially ANNCHI. This refined collection of superior quality bears witness to their creators inventive mind and love of experimenting tailoring technologies. Each item of any ANNCHI collection has a comfortable, accomplished feminine design that playfully offers the opportunity for the wearer to further adjust it to reflect her own personality, mood or the very occasion it’s intended to be worn at.

ANNCHI PAPER WAVES 2014

The new ANNCHI collection by Anna Horvath draws its inspiration from Julia Margaret Cameron photographer’s ethereal world and key pieces of mens wardrobe characterised by strong silhouettes. As a continuation from SS13 Anna has focused on folding and this season top quality fabrics come together to get natural confidence and effortless femininity.
Rooted in classical menswear PAPER WAVES collection aims to transform classic wardrobe into experimental conformity. To twist the well cut basics (such as shirt, waistcoat, jacket, ties) more feminine the designer operates with softness and blank spaces. A balance of soft and hard is always important for ANNCHI collections because they both support and enhance one another: as mens style makes women feel powerful, while the nature of floating fabrics breaks the rigidity of structured tailoring.

ANNCHI PAPER WAVES collection consists of clean dresses and various types of shirts with folded skirts. Variability is featured across the clothes; the special magnetic fastening system allows wrapping on apparels and dresses, which is not only playful but also gives independence to these comfortable items. The collection also features a series of scarfs. These soft accessories can be folded and tied into different shapes to create an effect similar to origami in order to modify towards the outfit and to give lightness.
Anna wanted the collection to stay very clean and minimal with attention to materials and details, therefore ANNCHI PAPER WAVES restrains the palette by focusing entirely on form rather than color. The collection’s colors are combined in a palette of white, black and navy tones. ANNCHI's latest collection is innovative but still wearable on the affordable end of the luxury market.
