Ankur Gupta

Ankur Gupta was born in New Delhi, India. He would often visit his uncle's factory which produces carpets and home furnishings during vacations and that is when his interest in designing and textiles developed.10 years later he decided to take Designing as profession. A Fashion and Textile graduate from New Delhi’s National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gupta was invited to study BA womenswear at London College of Fashion as part of exchange program where he worked as assistant designer with the Swash and Caroline Charles. Once back he did his final year collection at Manish Arora.
In 2009 he was selected as finalist at the renowned Trieste, Italy-based Fashion competition ITS#8 (International Talent Support) and his collection was highly acclaimed. This marked the beginning of his own label "ANKUR GUPTA".
In April 2010 he was invited by BLOW Pr, London and British council to participate in Alchemy Art Festival London and showcase at Royal Festival Hall.Later in 2010 The label was selected to do a collection of scarves by Creative Archives under Ankur Gupta X Creative archives which was showcased at showrooms at London fashion week and Paris fashion week along with the likes of Hussein Chalayan. In 2012 Ankur Gupta won Who's Next Pret a Porter Paris Young Designers Award and will be showcasing a collection From 30th June to 3rd July in Paris.
