Anastasio Giannoutsos, is currently graduating of his BFA in Fashion Design program at the Miami International University of Art and Design. The Venezuelan-born Greek comes from a long line of fashion business owners, yet he decided to pursue his calling after having studied architecture in Greece. Anastasio is fascinated by the beauty in shapes, lines, shadows, forms and colors. Anastasio truly enjoys conceptual design and his multi-part process involves designing in a 3D program, then converting to 2D and finally the construction process begins which includes deconstructing the garment in many smaller pieces and then one by one, reconstructing it. “Really, architecture design and fashion design have many similarities – they’re both rooted in function and beauty – you just have to change the scale,” says Giannoutsos.

Anastasio is influenced by many designers including Givenchy, Balmain, Del Pozo and of course Alexander McQueen. He really identifies with McQueen’s famous quote: “I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people would perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it.”

His ultimate goal is to have his own fashion house – creating one of kind pieces that grace the runways of fashion weeks all over the world. But most of all, he envisions a life fulfilling his passion of design. “I prefer living with less and doing what I’m passionate about, than living with more, but without passion.”

After having received awards in the last Three fashion shows such as the "Perry Ellis award for men's swimwear" and "The Overall Design Award 2017 and 2018" he managed to achieve the perfect blend between architecture and fashion that characterizes him, as is the case of his couture dresses whose prints are made of collage of Miami aerial pictures that together with the hand embroidery create unique pieces of art.
